New WordPress Plugin – WP Slider.js

slider_screencap

I just wanted to let you know about a plugin I’m currently working on. Yeah. It’s yet another feature/image slider but this one is based on the new, beautiful Slider.js by Gaetan Renaudeau.

WP Slider.js will allow you to pull the featured images from any category and create a slider with one simple template tag. Read more about the plugin on the project page. I hope that you will enjoy this plugin as much as I have.

WordPress.com Theme Repository

Capture

Lately I’ve been searching for some WordPress themes that incorporate the post-formats feature. I soon realized that there are not too many places to find these themes, but one place stood out and the answer will surprise you.  Read More…

On leaving a mark

This morning as I rode the elevator to my 4th floor office, I read yesterday’s status updates; not on my phone, but on the various surfaces around me.

JP was here
Wassup?!
Gig’em (it’s an Aggie thing)

My thoughts wandered to the numerous restroom stalls throughout the building littered with random quotes and lewd statements concerning the fairer sex. So many people reaching out, hoping to leave some type of mark, to create a permanence to their existence. Of course, there is nothing permanent about that.

So, how do you leave your mark?

Create. Add value. Improve your life and the lives of those around you. Don’t be content with writing on a wall that will, someday soon, be painted over. Make an impression on those with whom you interact and your legacy will be preserved.

Those content with just writing on a bathroom stall will find that the only permanent mark they leave on this earth will be a tombstone.

What mark will you leave?

Free post-format icons for WordPress (Updated)

The great folks at StudioPress released a set of post-format icons a while back with the PSD file included.

Today I’m releasing an edit of these icons that will soon appear on this site, also with the PSD file so you can edit to your heart’s content.

Enjoy!

P.S. – You can follow this theme’s development on GitHub.

UPDATE:  I wasn’t happy with the ‘image’ format icon so I’ve fixed that for you.
